BUTTON SPAMMING

Many video games now have extremely complex controls. A typical console controller has roughly a dozen button controls, and winning moves will require mastering many lengthy button sequences of up to six or seven steps. But beginners cannot be bothered with perfecting power moves and will tend to mash any number of buttons to get a result. This is called button spamming and it’s really a hit-and-miss affair, requiring no skill.
