Only 8 out of 1106 weapons submitted in Jhapa
Out of 1,106 licensed weapons in possession of various people in Jhapa, only eight people have submitted the weapons to the police after district security committee in Jhapa.
The District Administration Office, Jhapa had urged those in possession of a license or unlicensed arms and ammunition and explosives of various kinds to hand them over at different police posts ahead of the civic poll for security reasons.
The local level election is being held in two phases, one on May 14 and another on June 14.
According to Shailesh Thapa Chettri, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Jhapa, three arms each were submitted to the Area Police Office at Anarmani and Damak and two arms in Kakadvitta.
