POLAROID SWING

Polaroid’s instant-film photos were the cultural grandparent of today’s selfies. The brand has been synonymous with lives lived, and captured, in the moment, a sentiment now largely fulfilled by social media posting. To keep up, Polaroid has attached its brand to other creative projects. The Polaroid Swing app (available for iOS only) hopes to offer the same spontaneity and instant gratification that made physical Polaroids popular. For each photo you snap, the app captures a full second’s worth of images and stitches them together into a tiny animation. Tilting your phone or sliding your finger across the image animates it.
