Rs 200 million distributed to children in three districts
KATHMANDU - The Department of Civil Registration under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has distributed Rs 200 million to 90 thousand children in three districts.
The Department distributed the amount to these many children in Rautahat, Bajhang and Achham districts which fall far behind in terms of human development index.
Director General of the Department, Anil Kumar Thakur, said the amount has been distributed to the children under five years from families without income and without enough food supply, considering their condition.
Sixty-three thousand 54 children in Rukum, 6,458 in Achham and 13 thousand 821 in Bajhang benefited from the support. The Department provides Rs 400 per person per month.
Before this, the Department had been providing the monetary support to all the children below five years in Karnali Zone.
The Department has sought a fund Rs 1.25 billion from the Ministry for distributing to the children in Mahottari, Kailali, Doti, Rasuwa, Bajura and Jajarkot districts in the next fiscal year.
