Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City mayor says he will walk the talk

POKHARA -  The newly-elected mayor of Pokhara-Lekhnath Municipality, Man Bahadur GC, has vowed to fulfill what he said to the people during the election publicity campaign.
Talking to the media after his election to the post of mayor, he said he would be dedicated to developing the touristic city Pokhara-Lekhnath into the best municipality.
GC said although he used to be a cadre of a political party before, he is now a common representative of all the denizens of the metropolis after his election.

 

"I will work in such a way to win the hearts of the people," he added.
GC, born on September 1, 1960, in then Pokhara Municipality-28 holds a Bachelor degree in education.

 

He joined politics at the age of 20 as a member of the All Nepal National Free Students Union. He had taken membership of the then Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist) in 1984.
He had held different offices in the CPN (UML) at the district level including the chairman of the party's district committee in the intervening years.
GC is currently the alternative member of the CPN (UML) central committee and the Kaski district in-charge.

 

He is also the party's office secretary for Province No. 4.
